Technical Advisor (Wind Farms) The Technical Advisor ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. They guide and advise the client’s Balance of Plant (BOP) contractor to meet Nordex’s quality standards during the installation and finishing phases of wind turbines (WTG). They provide expert technical support for mechanical and electrical installations of Nordex turbines and components, ensure adherence to instructions, and proactively prevent deviations. They serve as the main point of contact between the client and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution and final delivery. Responsibilities HSE Compliance: Proactively ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements throughout the installation and finishing phases of WTGs, and report any deviations. Quality Assurance: Advise the client’s BOP contractor to ensure Nordex quality standards are met and facilitate a smooth transition to commissioning teams, the client, and after-sales service. Technical Support: Apply strong technical knowledge to support all mechanical and electrical activities carried out by the client’s BOP contractor and Nordex subcontractors. Reporting: Document and report any quality or scheduling deviations during installation, finishing, and commissioning using the UPVISE system. Work Supervision: Ensure all mechanical work is performed according to installation instructions and tooling maintenance requirements; provide recommendations in case of discrepancies. Tooling Management: Oversee the receipt, use, and return of Nordex tooling, ensuring proper usage and availability throughout the project. Inspection & Quality Control: Conduct required inspections and quality checks (goods receipt, quality checkpoints, customer walkdowns) to ensure compliance with project standards and specifications. Documentation: Assist in preparing and maintaining documentation required for handover to the client and BOP contractor. Client Relations: Build and maintain a positive collaborative relationship with the client’s BOP contractor to support smooth project execution. Daily Reports: Actively manage daily progress reports in UPVISE, providing real‑time updates on supervised activities. What You Bring College diploma (DEC) in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in mechanical, electrical, or construction fields; experience in mechanical wind farm construction is an asset. Experience in quality management and control; experience in turbine assembly is a plus. Strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and ability to build positive relationships with clients and subcontractors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to meet the 120 kg (265 lb) weight limit for safe use of equipment and safety harness. Bilingual in French and English. Valid driver’s license and passport. Working Conditions Willingness to travel over 80% of the time. On‑site presence required for the full duration of wind farm projects (typically 6 to 12 months). Rotational schedule: 4 weeks on / 1 week off. Working hours: 40–50 hours/week; 6 days/week. Travel: Mainly to sites in Quebec (Charlevoix, Gaspésie), with possible travel across Canada and the U.S. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and enter the U.S. if required.
