About this Opportunity Role Profile Position: Field Service Specialist Job Location: Oshawa, Ontario Job Type: Full‑Time Status: Non‑Exempt Summary of the Role Seeking an experienced Conveyor Belting Technician who is mechanically inclined. Performs splices and installation on various types of conveyor belts and components to meet customer and industry requirements. Performs other field service and warehouse tasks as trained and required. Reports to Field Service Supervisor or Manager. Responsibilities Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures Works closely with Field Service Supervisors and team members in attaining goals and objectives Good understanding of overall quality process and documentation Communicate general and quality‑related concerns to management Provide onsite customer service Perform conveyor belt installation with mechanical or vulcanized splice Understands tools and machinery applicable to the job Travel is a required part of job Skills and Abilities Must be able to work overtime hours, evenings and weekends when required Must be able to travel to out‑of‑town jobs as needed Possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers and team‑members in a professional manner Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools Basic computer skills including internet and email Must be able to apply OSHA standards applicable and MSHA standards as applicable (training will be provided) Minimum Qualifications Be at least 21 years of age Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record At least 3 years of experience working with conveyors and conveyor components Have a high school diploma / GED Reliable transportation is a must Be able to work independently Ability to safely drive a company truck Ability to see in color Ability to work overtime as required Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently on a repeated basis Ability to consistently move physically around the worksite during the full workday Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Basic math skills Properly measure with a tape measure Ability to travel on a regular basis Background checks and drug screening may be required (by Company Customer or DOT requirements in working on‑site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law) Must be able to successfully pass a DOT physical exam or have a current DOT medical card Preferred Qualifications Experience working with conveyors and conveyor components Completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience Mechanically inclined Knowledge of maintenance and repair of machinery a plus OSHA 10 and MSHA certifications First aid and CPR certifications Total Rewards Competitive compensation plan with a bonus potential Health benefits: medical, dental, vision, short‑term and long‑term disability available 1st of month following the date of hire Defined contribution pension plan Paid vacation, holidays and sick time Equal Opportunity Employer We are an equal opportunity employer.
