You will: Guide, coach, and foster the growth of a diverse team of professionals and technical experts within the section. Manage the planning, development and delivery of the ministry's multi‑million‑dollar, multi‑year Progressive Design Build (PDB) capital infrastructure project across Central Region. Provide expert engineering advice and leadership to address complex issues related to planning, contract development and administration, and application of ministry policies, management processes and systems for effective project delivery. Develop and manage substantial multi‑million dollar project budgets along with unit's operating budget. Facilitate contractual agreements with service providers to support project execution. Meet Your New Team The Major Highway Projects Division provides end-to-end delivery of major infrastructure projects using a range of contract delivery methods and partnerships. We will work closely with delivery partners – within MTO, across the OPS, agencies, vendors, and municipal and First Nations communities. Join the meeting now What you bring to the team Mandatory requirements Professional Certification: You are a Professional Engineer, licensed with the Association of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Business and Procurement Acumen: You are well-versed in business planning, budgeting, and government procurement and contract management practices. Project and Issues Management Project Delivery: You apply project management methodologies to plan, prioritize, and coordinate concurrent initiatives, ensuring timely and efficient execution. Risk and Issue Resolution: You analyze complex engineering and construction issues, mitigate risks, and make authoritative decisions to ensure technical adequacy and contract compliance. Communication and Relationship Management Skills Stakeholder Engagement: You build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, offering expert engineering advice and negotiating partnership agreements. Advisory and Representation: You represent the ministry on committees and working groups, contributing to policy development and resolving sensitive or complex issues. Technical Communication: You prepare and present technical reports, briefings, and documentation tailored to diverse audiences.
