Quantitative Equity Analyst – Data Science Connor, Clark & Lunn Investment Management Ltd. Vancouver, BC We are looking for a Quantitative Equity Analyst to join our Quantitative Equity Team. As part of a high-performance quant fund, you will help maintain a well-tuned investment engine that generates key decisions driving trades and investment insights. Leveraging finance skills and cutting‑edge technology, you will ensure data quality, continuous process improvement, and operational excellence. What You Will Do This full‑time role is for individuals passionate about learning the quantitative equity investment management business and eager to tackle a wide range of investment, mathematical, and technology challenges. You will begin with a comprehensive training program covering our quantitative equity investment process, then move into a specialized role that uses data science and process engineering to accelerate our team’s functions. Your responsibilities may include building, scaling, managing, and analyzing quantitative models, portfolios, data assets, and optimizers. You will receive coaching and mentorship from senior team members and have the opportunity to grow steadily over time. Investment Process Management The IPM group, part of the Quantitative Equities Team, builds highly scalable, efficient, and robust process‑management systems. Maintaining these processes and infrastructure is critical for generating systematic investment insights and daily trades. The IPM role offers opportunities to grow within IPM or across other Quantitative Equities functions (Research, Portfolio Construction, Trading). Skills Data Science Construct and run algorithms to explore and assess data efficiently. Validate structured and unstructured data sets for data quality. Design and test data loaders and security matching processes and specifications. Perform data analysis and provide expertise to support researchers’ projects. Facilitate production machine‑learning pipelines with effective auditing and analysis. Ensure accessibility and clarity of data assets through robust documentation and scrubbing. Develop methodologies for assessing and analyzing data in time‑critical production environments. Respond to and mitigate vendor data issues in production. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate traditional and alternative data. Present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders clearly and compellingly. Process and Reliability Engineering Design, implement, and test production processes for alpha, risk, portfolio optimization, and market implementation. Create robust, high‑performance process orchestration. Monitor production health and respond to critical issues promptly. Communicate real‑time production issues to portfolio managers, traders, and researchers. Identify computational bottlenecks and improve run speeds. Collaborate with investment teams to meet process needs. Find and evaluate areas for process improvement. Assess and evaluate data quality of production processes. The base salary range is $90,000 – $200,000 annually plus a competitive performance bonus. Compensation is determined by experience and qualifications.
