The Provincial Association of Transition Houses and Services of Saskatchewan (PATHS) is the member association for agencies that provide emergency shelter and/or counseling services to survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) in Saskatchewan. We support our members through research, training and providing opportunities for peer support. We work to create safer communities by working with community agencies and government, and by providing public education on the issue of violence against women. We maintain a comprehensive website and produce and distribute educational materials related to violence against women and girls. This permanent full-time position will be an opportunity for collaboration, advocacy and real impactful change. This is a hybrid role with a salary of $68,000 to $75,000 per year. The selected candidate will work with a small staff team and board of directors to maintain and grow the organization’s financial health and, in partnership with the Director of Research, will follow the vision and mission of the organization while providing support to the members and their communities. Position Responsibilities The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for providing leadership alongside the Director of Research. Also providing support and maintaining governance for the board of directors and committees, and for managing and growing PATHS profile and financial health. Working alongside the Director of Research and reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will maintain existing grant, donor and funding relationships, manage reporting and accounting for all revenue streams and explore new avenues for revenue, and lead the annual audit. The ED will be the primary point of contact for the board, stakeholders, funders, and members, media, and will oversee community events. Additionally, the ED will work to identify opportunities for growth in existing services. The ED will serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization. Leadership and Community The Executive Director, build, motivate, and support staff, PATHS members, the Board of Directors, and Board committees In collaboration with other organizations, participate in work that addresses Gender-Base Violence (GBV) and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). Respond to media requests or other such instances in which awareness, education, research, and advocacy involving intimate partner violence are required. Finance and Accounting Develop and oversee the annual budget, including cash flow and investments, in consultation with the staff, accountant, treasurer, and auditors Oversee and ensure the accuracy of monthly financial statements and reports Oversee the production of annual audited financial statements Provide bookkeepers with all invoices, receipts, and other documentation required to ensure proper bookkeeping for payables and receivables Ensure payroll is processed and paid correctly and on time Ensure all expenses and revenue have appropriate documentation Prepare quarterly financial reports for the Treasurer, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors Grants and fundraising Prepare funding applications, updates, and reports to funders, ensuring all requirements for each successful application are fulfilled Pursue the fund development strategy to ensure diversified and stabilized revenues Pursue and monitor fundraising goals and metrics, including but not limited to training, grants, foundation and donor contributions. Manage PATHS donor relationships and stewardship procedures, including the accurate tracking and receipting of donations Governance Assist the Board of Directors in recruitment for the Board Provide strategic and operational support to the Board of Directors and committees established by the Board Organize Board and Committee meetings, including the preparation and distribution of relevant materials Organize the Annual General Meeting, including the preparation and distribution of relevant materials. Provide onboarding and orientation for new Board of Directors following the Annual General Meeting, or as required Adhere to policies and procedures With the Director of Research Identify areas for research and advocacy to address IPV and GBV Develop workplans for funding applications Develop position papers on policy and legislation Create training materials based on current best practices and available research data. Maintain and build relationships with stakeholders including government, community service providers, and PATHS member agencies. Organize three in-person events with PATHS membership annually Organize relevant training for PATHS members as an in-person or hybrid professional development event and orientation Role Requirements Legally eligible to work in Canada. This is a hybrid role, and the successful candidate can live anywhere in Saskatchewan Equipped with a dedicated home-work space, with a quiet, private area to take calls, participate in meetings, and complete work Experienced in the financial management of a non-profit and/or charitable organization. Should be familiar with budget preparation, cash flow management, audit preparation and reporting Experience in writing grants at the provincial and federal levels. Experience in securing funding for both operating and project grants is preferred Experience in fund development, including social enterprise and able to support PATHS training for professionals, including domestic violence professionals, family law professionals, law enforcement, healthcare, and others businesses and organizations Experience in working with a board of directors Comfortable using technology and learning more as needed. The successful candidate must be adept at using Office 365, QuickBooks Online, Zoom, Google products, and more A self-starter who can do their work with minimal oversight Capable of handling multiple competing priorities and managing important deadlines Organized, and talented at time management Capable of following directions and learning new processes and skills as needed A team-player who is comfortable supporting a small team A great communicator who is great at imparting information effectively and having productive discussions with groups who may have differing viewpoints The ideal candidate will also be Experienced in working with a membership association Experienced in working in the intimate partner violence/ gender-based violence sector Employment Details Salary: This role will pay $68,000 to $75,000 per year for a 37.5 hours per week role, commensurate with experience Benefits: Our successful candidate will be eligible to receive benefits after 3 months of employment Vacation: 4 weeks of vacation per year, plus paid personal leave.
