Position Summary As a Senior Buyer at Ampco, you will play a critical role in executing the procurement strategy for materials, components, and services essential to our operations. Your responsibilities will focus on sourcing, supplier management, cost optimisation, project coordination, and ensuring timely acquisition of high‑quality inputs for our manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Execute procurement activities by placing orders, tracking shipments, and maintaining accurate records within the ERP system. Maintain efficient purchasing files and supplier records to facilitate smooth operations. Develop and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate terms, and manage relationships. Collaborate across departments to achieve sourcing objectives and support new product launches. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Negotiate with suppliers to resolve issues, such as defective materials. Coordinate the procurement process by requesting quotes and arranging transportation for incoming shipments and equipment purchases. Evaluate and select suppliers for automotive components, materials, and services. Ensure contract compliance, identifying and recommending cost‑saving strategies. Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities to enhance supply chain efficiency. Work closely with other departments to optimise inventory levels and minimise lead times. Collaborate with quality assurance and control teams to ensure compliance with standards. Assess and mitigate supply chain risks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Stay informed about market trends and industry changes, making informed procurement decisions. Coordinate and support industry‑standard compliance activities, including audits and monitoring. Investigate and respond to procurement and contracting compliance risk issues. Contribute to process development and improvements to support organisational objectives. What You Bring to Ampco 5‑7 years of procurement experience with a strong track record in sourcing and supplier management. Deep understanding of compliance standards. Professional designation in Supply Chain Management (SCMP) or equivalent is preferred. Strong problem‑solving skills and proactive approach. Ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments and manage tight deadlines. Self‑motivated, driven to achieve results. Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and across departments. Understanding of process flow autonomy and role impact. Data analysis and forecasting experience. Experience in offshore logistics, domestic logistics, Incoterms and HS Codes. Experience in estimating and providing quotes. Ability to draft proposals or requests for quotations and strategic sourcing skills. Experience in project coordination or management. Understanding of take‑offs, analysing drawings and technical specs. Exceptional organisational skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
