Position Overview As an Associate Financial Planner, you will: Manage and nurture an existing book of clients. Grow your own client base through referrals, networking, and targeted outreach. Deliver high-quality financial planning, investment guidance, and insurance recommendations. Operate with autonomy while benefiting from MDL’s brand, marketing, systems, and in-house support. This opportunity is compensated entirely through the revenue you generate from planning, investment activity, and insurance solutions. There is no base salary, but earnings are directly tied to your production and client success. Responsibilities Client Relationship Management Strengthen relationships with assigned clients and understand their evolving financial needs. Conduct regular reviews and update financial plans accordingly. Provide ongoing guidance across retirement planning, investments, tax optimization, and risk management. New Client Development Actively seek opportunities to expand your client base. Use workshops, COI relationships, networking, and digital outreach to generate new meetings. Convert prospects into long-term planning relationships. Financial Planning & Advice Perform full financial assessments with industry-leading planning tools. Recommend strategies for investments, insurance, retirement income, and corporate planning where appropriate. Present comprehensive financial plans in a clear, client-friendly manner. Qualifications Education & Licensing Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or in progress. LLQP. Mutual funds license or equivalent investment registration. Experience Experience managing and growing a book of business. Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks. Comfortable with financial planning tools, CRMs, and spreadsheets. Experience with tax planning or investment management is an asset. Skills Excellent relationship-building and communication skills. Consistent success in bringing in new clients. Strong analytical ability and attention to detail. Confident presenter capable of simplifying complex concepts. Mindset Entrepreneurial and resourceful. Highly motivated by results and client impact. Comfortable operating in a production-driven environment. Able to work independently and collaboratively. Languages Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required. Compensation Structure Earnings are fully based on business you generate in planning, investments, and insurance.
