The Opportunity

We are currently seeking aSafety Coordinator to join ourGlencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

The position will be based within our Sudbury Operations

This is a 24 Month Contract position.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Sustainable Development (SD) Safety Lead, the Safety Coordinator provides support in the management and implementation of the Glencore SafeWork 2.0 program and Sudbury INO’s Safety programs.

The position requires a close working relationship with other safety professionals within the Sustainable Development Dept. and at Sudbury INO operational sites. High quality relationships with various stakeholders will be an important aspect in the success of the candidate as they manage activities within the Sudbury INO Safety Program and SafeWork 2.0.

About You

Working at our Sudbury Operations, the successful candidate must adhere to our core values on safety performance in the workplace. The incumbent requires a minimum of 5 years field safety experience and 3 to 5 years of experience in the development and implementation of safety management systems. Knowledge of safety legislation and issues is essential. Direct knowledge of mining regulations and programs would be an asset. Experience in safety programs within a unionized environment. Ability to function and coordinate multi-projects in SafeWork portfolio. Capable of critical thinking, long-term planning, and analysis to ensure Project success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Your personal commitment to health, safety, training, and continuous improvement will be the key to your success in this role.

Education

Minimum requirement is a college diploma in occupational health and safety or equivalent program from a recognized educational institution. Proven equivalent and recent related education, training and experience may also be considered.
