Job Summary The Job Cost Analyst supports the financial and operational success of the corrugated manufacturing plants by analyzing and reporting job‑level costs, monitoring production efficiencies, and providing insights into material, labor, and overhead variances. This role ensures accurate cost tracking for corrugated board, converting operations, and finished goods, helping management make informed pricing, process, and investment decisions. Responsibilities Cost Analysis & Reporting Analyze job order costs, including paperboard, glue, inks, labor, machine time, and overhead allocations. Maintain and reconcile job costing data within the ERP system. Generate detailed cost variance reports by product, customer, and production run. Identify trends in raw material usage, scrap, and machine efficiency that affect job profitability. Support margin analysis to assist sales and operations in maintaining profitability across orders and customers. Budgeting & Forecasting Assist with annual standard cost updates for materials and converting operations. Inventory & Cost Accounting Reconcile raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory balances. Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including cost roll‑ups and variance analysis. Ensure accuracy of production order closures in the ERP system. Partner with warehouse and production teams to ensure physical counts match system data. Process & Continuous Improvement Collaborate with other departments to improve reporting, processes, and data accuracy. Recommend improvements to costing methods to better capture true manufacturing costs. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work with sales and estimating teams to review and validate pricing models and cost assumptions. Partner with operations, maintenance, and scheduling teams to ensure cost accuracy for make‑ready times, machine speeds, and material yields. Provide financial insight for capital projects and process improvement initiatives. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Industrial Engineering required. 2–5 years of experience in cost analysis or accounting within a corrugated, paper, or packaging manufacturing environment. Required Skills Proficiency in ERP systems. Strong Excel and data analytics capabilities. Solid understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles, including job and process costing. Familiarity with corrugated production processes (corrugator, flexo folder‑gluer, die cutter, etc.) preferred. Soft Skills High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across departments. Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing or improving job costing systems in corrugated operations. Understanding of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
