Our client, a collegial litigation firm with a focus on insurance defence litigation, is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Law Clerk or Paralegal to join their team. This is a full-time position ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative legal environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and client service.ResponsibilitiesAdvising clients on legal proceedingsInterviewing clients, witnesses and other related partiesPerforming clerical duties, such as maintaining filing systemsScheduling discoveries, motions, mediations, and pre-trials between counsel, clients, and the courtsResearching records, court files and other legal documentsDrafting legal correspondenceAdministering oaths, taking affidavits, and depositionsSupporting lawyers in preparing for mediations and judicial dispute resolution sessionsCoordinating and monitoring procedural timelines to ensure compliance with court rulesMaintaining accurate and confidential client files and legal recordsCommunicating proactively with clients to provide updates and manage expectationsCollaborating with lawyers and staff to ensure high-quality file managementQualificationsCompletion of a Law Clerk or Paralegal Program with certificateAt least 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation (More experience welcomed)Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil ProcedureStrong drafting skills, efficiency, and effective case handlingExperience with electronic filing and court systems (e.g., Case Centre) is essentialDefense-side experience is not required, but familiarity with litigation workflows is expectedExcellent written and oral communication skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlinesProficient in Microsoft Office and case management software for scheduling and document preparationReliable, client-focused, and able to work both independently and collaborativelyRecognized for accuracy, file ownership, and proactive case managementIf this describes you, and you are interested in joining a growing, dynamic, team-oriented firm that provides an attractive compensation and benefits package, send us your details.We thank all applicants.
