Senior Recruitment & Process Optimization Manager @ Citus HR We are seeking a Tax Director to oversee tax compliance and planning strategies. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, this role will be instrumental in managing tax provisions, regulatory compliance, and M&A tax strategies. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement tax planning strategies that align with the company’s financial goals. Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision processes, including calculations and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations. Manage the preparation and filing of corporate income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax returns. Conduct financial audits to assess accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Lead the budgeting process related to tax planning and compliance. Provide tax support for M&A activities, including strategy, due diligence, and integration planning. Collaborate with external advisors and regulatory bodies for audits and tax-related matters. Research and implement new tax regulations impacting the business. Partner with internal departments to provide training and guidance on tax implications. Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Support ad hoc projects and special assignments as required. Qualifications & Skills: Post‑secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation required; Master’s in Tax or In‑depth Tax Program (at least Level 1) preferred. 10+ years of corporate tax experience, with expertise in M&A tax and large project management. Strong ability to align tax strategies with business objectives. Experience managing relationships with third‑party tax consultants and auditors. Advanced accounting, analytical, and research skills. Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs) and tax software. Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, confident in engaging with senior leadership. A results‑driven, problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
