Health & Safety Coordinator Pomerleau – Greater St. John's Metropolitan Area What you will do Lead site health and safety, guiding project teams and ensuring compliance becomes second nature. Promote Pomerleau’s H&S standards, OH&S Acts, regulations and codes with teammates and trade partners. Craft plans, lead meetings and spot potential hazards from project kickoff to closeout. Conduct regular site inspections on the ground. Lead incident investigation processes, dissecting high‑risk elements and sharing findings with the Regional H&S Manager. Build a proactive accident prevention culture and be the first responder during emergencies. Train, mentor and coach the team on H&S best practices. Compile statistics, identify patterns and pave the way for proactive improvements. Support upkeep of Pomerleau’s COR Standards, ensuring all COR elements are met on job sites. Qualifications 3‑5 years of hands‑on Health & Safety experience in the construction industry. Background in Occupational H&S, risk management or direct industry experience. Experience or familiarity with Certification of Recognition (COR) and Safety Group (IHSA). People management and relationship skills. Proven experience tracking and monitoring H&S with computer programs. NCSO designation is an asset.
