Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Toronto's Dufferin Grove neighbourhood, for a French‑Speaking Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE). The RECE will support the delivery of high‑quality Montessori programming in line with the school’s philosophy. Core responsibilities include supporting the Montessori Teacher, supervising lunch and recess, preparing and restocking the classroom environment, planning and implementing lessons, facilitating learning experiences in French, providing a safe and stimulating environment, and observing and documenting the developmental progress of students. Collaboration with fellow educators is an integral part of the role. Responsibilities Support the Montessori Teacher and oversee classroom activities. Supervise lunch and recess, ensuring a safe environment. Prepare and restock the classroom environment. Plan and implement lessons, facilitating learning experiences in French. Observe and document developmental progress of students. Collaborate with fellow educators to maintain a cohesive learning environment. Qualifications Fluency in French, strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English, and the ability to engage children effectively in the language. Knowledge or experience with the Montessori method and principles, and the ability to support a Montessori‑prepared environment. Certified Early Childhood Educator designation, registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), and adherence to professional standards and regulations. Skills in classroom management, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students and the group as a whole. Experience in curriculum planning, lesson delivery, and child observation and documentation. Proficient in supporting children’s intellectual, emotional, and social development. Bilingual candidates with additional Montessori certification or previous experience in a Montessori setting will have an advantage.
