HCDSB is a provincial leader in student achievement, providing exceptional educational experiences to over 36,000 students across 48 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, and 3 continuing education facilities in the wider Catholic communities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville. Appointment & Qualifications Qualifications: As per the Education Act and Regulations unless otherwise specified. Appointment: Occasional Teachers in Long Term Assignments will be filled in accordance with Part A, Article 17.3 of the current OECTA Elementary Collective Agreement. Priority placement will be given to unplaced, qualified redundant teacher applicants from the Elementary Teacher bargaining in order of seniority. If the assignment remains unfilled, qualified applications from the Occasional Roster will be considered. Education: We encourage applications from all Ontario Certified Teacher applicants as well as education students holding, or who have applied for a: Transitional Certificate of Qualification and Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers; Multi‑Session Transitional Certificate of Qualification and Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers. Assignment End: The assignment may terminate on a date determined to meet a Board staffing requirement, the last teaching day before the return date of the absent teacher, or by no later than the last teaching day of the current school year. The assignment may end sooner than the posted end date.
