The OpportunityWSP is growing and has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Water, Wastewater, and Solid Waste Facilities Structural Team located in Thornhill, Ontario. As an engineer with us, you will be part of our growing team, using your skills and engineering expertise to design and partner on major infrastructure projects in Canada from coast to coast. As a Structural Engineer, you will be an integral part of our dynamic structural team and dive into the intricate world of engineering analysis and designs on water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pumping stations, underground liquid retaining tanks, chambers, solid waste management facilities and other types of infrastructure facilities. You will also contribute to proposal pursuits, condition assessments, construction phase services, and project management at various levels as part of your overall portfolio of work. Why choose WSP? What you can expect to do here Create structural analysis and design models, engineering calculation spreadsheets, and hand calculations for structural components and overall structures Prepare markups for BIM modellers and drafters using Bluebeam or manual markups Participate in construction services, including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, change order assessments, and on-site inspections Conduct site surveys, gather field data, and perform condition assessments of existing structures Facilitate collaboration between design and construction teams Share expertise with junior staff and foster development Contribute or lead in projects as project manager, responsible for budget, schedule, stakeholder relationships, and status reporting Be prepared for a dynamic role with additional duties as assigned What you’ll bring to WSP Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience, ideally in water and wastewater facility or solid waste facility structural design in Ontario or across Canada Professional Engineer licensed in the Province of Ontario Ability to collaborate within a team environment Reliability and accountability to deliver on commitments Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., OBC 2024, NBCC 2020, CSA A23, ACI 350) Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, S-Frame, and CSI software; basic knowledge of BIM360 and REVIT Strong verbal and written communication skills for proposals, memoranda, and reports Ability to work under pressure and coordinate across disciplines and stakeholders Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering would be preferred Ontario G Driver License would be preferred About Us WSP is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
