Boldness, innovation and collaboration are an integral part of our daily operations.Your Main ResponsibilitiesProtostatix a division of Englobe is currently looking for Structural Engineers for their office in Edmonton. Would consider someone to work out of our Calgary office.Must be proficient in wood construction projectsPerform structural site investigations/inspections/reviews, gather data and prepare technical reports, site review/inspection reports and compliance lettersDescribe existing structural conditions and provide engineering solutions as required through Structural Condition Assessments and engineering studiesPerform engineering calculations, analysis and design of structural elements including concrete, steel, masonry, wood, light-gauge metal and precast using the latest and applicable building and design codes/standardsManage and/or generate deliverable documentation (i.e. drawings & specifications) for structural projects which requires accuracy in calculations and/or dataManage projects to ensure targets are met (schedule/budget)Regularly interact with clients and contractors throughout the project durationReview engineering designs and drawings from junior team members and engineers-in-training and provide mentorship and feedbackReview contractor’s submittals and shop drawings and develop design solutions and modifications when warranted by site conditionsMarket our services to new/existing clients through business development initiativesApply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rulesWhat Makes You UniqueRegistered with the Association of Professional Engineers at a provincial association (APEGA)Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural EngineeringMust be experienced in Wood Construction Projects5+ years of transferable experience in structural design of buildings and structural components/elements (new structures and/or renovations) post-graduationExtensive knowledge and exposure of all relevant Canadian building codes, standards and regulatory requirements (CSA, ACI, NBCC, etc.)Experience with project management and contract administrationExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to produce well-written reports and technical specificationsExperience with structural analysis/modelling computer software such as ETABS, SAFE, SFRAME, etc.Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to complex concepts/projects, working independently and as part of a teamAbility to effectively and efficiently problem-solve, tackle new assignments and multi-task in a busy work environment with an emphasis on attention to detailValid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Alberta Canada (incl. remote areas)What Makes Englobe UniqueAt Englobe, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects of every size and scope.
