It’s the best place for kids to be when the bell rings For over 60 years, we’ve been creating safe, engaging spaces where children can play, create, and connect after school.Join an organization where every day you support kids in discovering where they belong.We Can ProvideOpportunities for paid professional development such as:Responsible Adult, Class 4 Driver’s License, First Aid & Food SafeProfessional Development DaysFun, Safe, Inclusive & Positive CultureCost shared benefit plan, paid sick and vacation time, childcare discountKey Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and participate in quality and diverse recreational, social, and/or educational programming.Provide direct supervision of members, and ensure their health, safety, and wellness.Mentors, guides and leads Activity Leaders within the program and activities.Build relationships with the children, youth, and families within their designated programs. Establishes open communication with parents/caregivers.Use Club vans to pick up members from school and transport to various sites if required.Prepare nutritious snacks and meals for membersProvides group and/or individual behavior management and support.Ensures Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing Regulations, Risk Management requirements and general safety standards are met.QualificationsEducation in childcare and/or experience planning, implementing and evaluating childcare programs.First Aid Certificate and Food Safe or willingness to obtainClass 5 Driver’s License and/or willingness to obtain Class 4 DL as soon as possible for some rolesMust be at least 19 years of age as per licensing requirementsSuccessful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record CheckHours: casual hours available, Monday to Friday, between 1:30pm – 6:30pmRate of Pay: $20.41 per hourClosing Date: Open until filledAs an equal opportunity employer, BGC Okanagan is committed to the prioritization of equitable and inclusive employment practices.
