Intermediate Mechanical Estimator – Nutemp Mechanical Systems Ltd. Nutemp Mechanical Systems Ltd. is a COR certified multi-trade mechanical contractor with over 40 years of experience, serving industrial, commercial, and institutional markets in Southern Ontario. Job Overview We are seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Estimator to join our Estimating team. Responsibilities Gather and retain accurate data on costs of goods, materials, market labor, and equipment rates from suppliers and sub-trades. Identify the most competitive rates through cost analysis and comparison. Identify conflicts with plans and submit questions to the consultant. Prepare detailed and accurate estimates by calculating material take-offs, equipment, and labor rates for tender verification. Review and evaluate proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and estimate content. Prepare budgets for awarded proposals and handoff files to the project team. Follow up on submissions with clients and provide quantitative feedback on pricing. Maintain an active database of clients, vendors, and sub-trades. Review estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to final quotation. Prepare final estimate summaries addressing scope, pricing, and comprehensiveness. Assist the Senior Estimator and management team with pursuit and acquisition of new projects. Review estimates with the Senior Estimator and management. Qualifications 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience (HVAC, piping, plumbing). Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred). Extensive experience organizing and preparing cost estimates and proposals for construction projects. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and documents. Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), MS Project, CAD, and/or Revit. Excellent time‑management skills. Ability to calculate extensions, analyze construction drawings, documentation, contracts, cost coding systems, and work breakdown structures. Benefits Competitive salary and health benefits package.
