Base pay range CA$35.00/hr - CA$45.00/hr Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Financial Analyst to support year-end, quarter-end, and month-end close activities at the platform level. This contract role is ideal for an accounting professional who excels in detailed financial reconciliations, journal entries, and analysis, with strong technical proficiency in Excel. This role is 3-4 days a week in office. Key Responsibilities Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reporting. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in alignment with corporate accounting policies. Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger. Support variance analysis and investigation of discrepancies across multiple entities or business units. Collaborate with internal teams to gather supporting documentation and resolve reconciliation issues. Assist with process improvements and standardization of close and reporting activities. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as needed during the year-end close period. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA designation Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience, ideally within wealth management or financial services. Strong understanding of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs; macros an asset). Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. Experience with large ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar) preferred.
