We know that the ability to deliver outstanding client service starts with having the best talent on our team, and if you want to be part of our success story then we want to hear from youThe Opportunity:Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Junior Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Finance and Operations departments with forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis. You will play a critical role in providing valuable insights, analysis, and financial expertise to drive informed decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career to gain hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while contributing to strategic business decisions.You’ll work closely with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to support financial planning processes, analyze performance trends, and help drive operational efficiency across the organization.This position is based in Calgary and offers a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days per week in-office.Main Responsibilities:Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.Collaborate with business units to gather inputs and validate assumptions.Help maintain and improve financial models and reporting tools.Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial data and reporting.Key Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.1–3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role (internships or co-op experience welcome).Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial systems or BI tools is a plus.Solid understanding of financial statements and basic accounting principles.Skills & Attributes:Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present and explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Proactive and curious approach to problem-solving.Note: If you have a passion for Financial Analysis, along with the skills and qualifications required for this GREAT opportunity, please send your resume to employment.opportunities@hrblock.ca including the position title in the subject line.We encourage all interested individuals to apply.
