PositionSenior Technical Engineer/Officer – Ontario Power GenerationStatus: Regular Full TimeJob OverviewOntario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to support Process Control and Software Categorization functions in a hybrid environment located in Pickering, ON.Key AccountabilitiesAssess the effect of control components on loop performanceTroubleshoot control problems and perform loop tuningModel physical systems and document simulated plant dynamicsProvide advice and maintain software governanceTest and design instrumentation and control components and control systemsAssess software categorization in accordance with OPG Governance and CSA standardsQualifications4‑year Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Chemical, or related Engineering disciplineMinimum 2 years experience in a process control/software categorization engineering roleExperience with process control systems (e.g., DCS, PLC, SCADA, or similar industrial automation systems)Software development experience in C/C++, Python, Java, or ladder logicFamiliarity with software categorization standards (e.g., CSA N290.14, IEC 61508, IEEE 7‑4.3.2)Experience with software lifecycle processes: requirements, design, implementation, verification, validation, configuration management, and documentationExperience in nuclear, power generation, or highly regulated environments highly valuedExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a fast‑paced environmentCandidate must be a fully licensed engineer in Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of OntarioBase salary range: $1,704.68 – $2,924.93 Per Week (salary dependent on experience, education, and training; inclusive of performance programs and collective agreement considerations).OPG is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment.
