You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including safety, software and hardware engineers, to ensure optimal system functionality and integration. This role involves both the development of new systems and the continuous improvement of existing systems, with a focus on innovation, reliability, and efficiency.ResponsibilitiesDevelop specifications for an avionics platform consisting of hardware and software elements used to host and execute the avionics functions on an autonomous drone following processes and procedures meeting the objectives of ARP4754Define a verification strategy and develop and execute a requirements based test campaign following processes and procedures meeting the objectives of ARP4754Occasional travel to Customer facilities in Western United States for test execution in avionics integration labCollaborate with multidisciplinary team including estimating, planning and reporting of activities, status and roadblocksPrepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodiesRequired CompetenciesExperience with Aircraft Systems and Sub-Systems development following guidance of ARP4754 including validation and verification of an integrated systemExperience developing sub-system technical specifications including complex hardware and software componentsExperience with Aircraft electrical systems and power distribution, battery management systems and electrical power generationExperience with Python or similar scripting languagesMinimum 5 years experience in aerospace systems and sub-systems domainPreferred CompetenciesProficiency in systems modeling and analysis tools (MATLAB, Simulink, or similar)Knowledge of avionics systems, including communications, navigation, and flight control systemsKnowledge and experience with the application of reliability, maintainability and safety principles following the guidance of ARP4761 including SFHA, SSA, FMEA, CMA and their impact on design and architectureExperience with requirements and data management toolsExperience with preparation and review of certification life cycle dataAdvanced degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related fieldFamiliarity with the latest trends and technologies in aerospace engineering, such as electric aircraft, autonomous systems, and AI integrationMiscellaneous RequirementsWork can be done remotelyFor employees based in Montreal, the work model is hybrid (at least one day at the office)The position might require travel to visit customers (in North America)Knowledge of English is required to communicate and work with customers outside the province of Quebec.
