This Regular Full-Time position will play a key role in performing operational functions to ensure delivery of a safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience that supports our brand and business whilst meeting all compliance and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational AccountabilitiesWorking on a shift basis, perform aircraft maintenance for Cathay Group aircraft and third party customers (if applicable) under supervision of the Aircraft EngineerPerform local or overseas operational relief duties or standard duties when required • Help to monitor third party supplier’s performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refueling etc.), follow up and rectify any operational issues in a timely mannerSupport the contingency plans and ad hoc operational requirements such as diversions, charters, ad hoc aircraft type changes, major disruption recovery, etc.Perform servicing and maintenance for station ground equipment, vehicles and facilitiesSupport Cathay Quality Assurance, Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department and / or third party audits, follow up and rectify the audit findings within the required timelines as directedPerform station administration and ensure station documentations / passes are up-to-date and valid as directed by the Engineering Manager / Engineering SupervisorEnsure compliance with local Occupational Health & Safety standards and regulations / guidelinesAny other reasonable task as requested including engaging in non-operational duties and projectsPerformance Management and Business Process ImprovementEnsure that annual SMART goals are understood and actionedAttend performance reviews and discuss career development plan with the designated Direct AppraiserAttend station meetings as required to ensure regular engagement and effective communicationEmbrace continuous improvement culture through quality innovation, teamwork, lean processes to drive operational efficiency, productivity and commercial improvementE&AEmergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as requiredRequirementsAcademic QualificationsCompletion of High School / GED or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is requiredSuccessful completion of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category M program, or aviation apprentice or aviation training courses/programsPossess FAA-certified Airframe and/or Powerplant License is preferredKnowledge, Skills, Training and ExperienceDemonstrably aptitude and understanding of aircraft maintenance operationsHave (or be willing to receive) induction training/ on the job training as required covering but not limited to:Aircraft and Ramp Safety AwarenessCompany Procedures Awareness trainingHuman Factors Awareness trainingOther training as requestedStrong cognitive reasoning, mathematical and diagnostic skills are essentialAdditional RequirementsMust possess a valid Canadian driver’s licenseMust successfully pass all pre-screening clearances, including reference checks and pre-employment drug screen upon contingent job offerEligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances per local requirementsAbility to move equipment up to 50 lbs frequentlyComfortable working outdoors on the tarmac in all weather conditionsMust be willing and able to perform a variety of physical activities to complete inspection and repairs, including bending, crouching, stooping, and positioning self in overhead positionsMust be able to work a variety of shifts including days, weekends, nights, holidays, and overtime, as required based on operational needsMust be willing and able to travel within North America, Hong Kong and overseas as/if required.Must have the right to live and work in CanadaCathay Pacific Airways is proud to offer eligible employees competitive Compensation & Benefits package, as varied by location, regularly scheduled hours worked, length of employment and employment status as highlighted below.Travel Privileges on Cathay Pacific Airways Global NetworkExtensive well-being programs including health, dental, vision and employee assistance program benefits to help you stay well.Paid Holiday & VacationTo learn more about Cathay Pacific as a Certified Great Place Employer –Please Click Here’Personal & Application InformationCathay Pacific Airways Limited is committed to employment equity, supports diversity in the workplace and encourages application from all qualified individuals including women, members of visible minorities, Aboriginal peoples and persons with disabilities.
