Job Description Summary As part of WFG, the Regional Director of Business Development leads a team of External Business Development Consultants. The Director creates and implements strategies to grow life and annuity sales, recruit and train agents, and promote WFG’s products, ultimately driving increased agent engagement and sales performance. Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of External Business Development Consultants focused on generating life and annuity/segmented fund sales growth. Execute on objectives that increase licensed agent counts, first‑time producer sales, business retention, and multi‑product sales. Provide the field force with tools, resources, and industry best practices to achieve business goals. Guide field leaders on strategic planning and issue resolution; analyze field performance for emerging trends and recommendations. Engage field leadership to implement WFG initiatives that enhance business effectiveness. Monitor agent recruiting and licensing within territories; deliver training, messaging, and incentives to achieve growth and retention. Ensure field programs adhere to WFG/Transamerica guidelines and quality control measures; resolve issues. Travel regularly with consultants to provide coaching, maximize regional sales, and manage budgeted travel expenditures. Recruit, hire, coach, reward, and lead staff; set performance expectations and conduct reviews. Qualifications Minimum ten years of financial services experience, including distribution/sales management and leadership roles. Life license or Life & Health license and Mutual Fund license. In‑depth understanding of the life insurance industry, securities business, and agency operations and U.S. or Canadian regulations. Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with field staff and stakeholders. Solid business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to influence outcomes. Analytical and problem‑solving skills to interpret and communicate complex concepts. Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and public‑speaking abilities. Creative self‑starter with the ability to motivate others. Attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Effective application of project management methodologies. Proficiency with MS Office and web‑based training/meeting platforms. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Bilingual: English/French/Spanish/Punjabi (oral and written), as required in some territories. Experience using WFG/TFA platforms. Working Conditions Remote or hybrid‑remote office environment. Extensive travel (50–75% of time) to field offices, business meetings, conferences, and events.
