This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, tactical and weapon systems, and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team through the entire product lifecycle from concept to technical data package release. The LSE Staff Specialist/Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of the design engineering process as well as development of requirements work products (SPS, SSPS, PDFS, SwRS, and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) work products).Key Job ElementsLead the development, documentation, and management of system and subsystem requirements in DOORS and/or Cameo, etc. for both Production and IR&D projects; ensure all designs comply with the subsystem specifications needs. Engage with key stakeholders to makes sure requirements are aligned with customer and stakeholder needs.Manage the requirement allocation activities (Size, Weight, Power, Cooling, Reliability, etc).Develop and maintain requirements traceability to both customer requirements and internal GDLS standards.Lead the integration of subsystems into complete vehicle systems, including support of the testing and validation processes to confirm functionality, reliability, and safety under various operational conditions.Lead Design Maturity Review (DMR) meetings for assigned subsystems including risk management with supporting mitigation strategies.Lead technical issue resolution between the company and clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors. Manage communication of complex technical information.Lead the execution of the fundamentals of MBSE and systems engineering practices.Prepare and review detailed technical reports, design documentation, and specifications. Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.Lead and/or contribute to the development of the System Engineering Plan (SEMP) and SE Planning Activities.Manage and contribute to the Lessons learned database for active programs with respect to systems engineering process.Facilitate and contribute as required to the subsystem design description development process.Execute and Lead Systems Engineering activities (DMRs, Gates (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR), TPM and product deliverables (CDRLs)).Required QualificationsUniversity Degree or College Diploma in a related fieldMinimum 5 years relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering with previous experience in SysML and MBSE in CameoStrong technical and analytical abilityProduct knowledge of Military/LAV family of vehiclesExcellent communication and strong interpersonal skillsSuperior organizational skills with the ability to be agile, set priorities and multi-task under pressureStrong systems thinking perspectiveDemonstrated ability to give presentations to internal and external customers.Advanced computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to travel (5% CDN) and (10% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passportPreferred QualificationsP.Eng or the ability to obtain a P.EngWorking ConditionsPhysical Conditions and Hazards: The conditions in which an individual or staff works, including but not limited to such things as amenities, physical environment, stress and noise levels, degree of safety or danger, temperature, location.Physical Environment: OfficeHazards: NAEquipment Utilized: This section describes the type of equipment an employee is required to use: ComputerSenioritiesMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionInformation Services and IT Services and IT ConsultingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
