Job Summary Reporting to the Manager Banquets & Catering, the Banquet Captain will work with the Food Services Team to deliver great service and quality products to ensure our guests have a wonderful experience that exceeds their expectations. The Banquet Captain oversees both staff and event execution. They are responsible for assisting in the supervision and organization of the banquet events to the required standards resulting in the complete satisfaction of guests and clients. The Banquet Captain will ensure that banquet venues are prepped to specifications, banquet staff is fully prepared, guests are well taken care of and that functions are executed as planned. This includes set-up venues for a function or event prior to the guest’s arrival and tear down the venue when the guests have left. The Banquet Captain may be required at times to be a Banquet Server. Responsibilities Supervise banquet staff and coordinate event execution to meet standards. Prepare venues and ensure they meet specifications before events start. Assist in planning and execution of banquet events, including set-ups and tear-downs. Ensure guests are well taken care of and that all functions run smoothly. May be required to serve as a Banquet Server when needed. Maintain quality assurance and compliance with health and safety regulations. Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience in a fast‑paced hospitality or serving industry. Valid driver’s licence and ability to drive to event locations when required. Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate. Open availability to work both morning and evening events. Minimum 4 years of catering or hospitality management, supervisory experience. Excellent customer service skills and ability to read event orders and organize deliveries. Strong conflict resolution, problem‑solving, and delegating skills. Leadership qualities with staff motivation and direction. Ability to follow written and oral directions for timelines and room setups. Independent and team‑orientated with excellent organization and multitasking. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
