We have a great opportunity for you.As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical and engineering support as a part of Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Reliability Team in Fort McMurray. In this position you will utilize your sound technical skills to provide technical support to operations, maintenance and outage organizations, and prepare high quality design packages, as required.Minimum Requirements:A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering7 or more years of experience in E&I maintenance/reliability engineering within the industry /operating plantExpertise in a variety of electrical equipment namely relays, VFD’s, motors & switchgearsKnowledge of design, maintenance, testing and commissioning of E&I equipmentExperience with management of change (MOC) process and workflowProven stakeholder management and non-authoritative leadership skillsKnowledge of medium & low voltage Rockwell/Siemens/ABB VFD’s is preferredKey Accountabilities:Provide technical support to operations and maintenance during troubleshooting and incident investigationsParticipate in PU meetings and assist with field visitsComplete E&I engineering work packages for equipment reliability improvements, ensuring compliance with standardsPrepare high-quality design packages and detailed specificationsAnalyze equipment data to develop end-of-life strategies and failure reportsProvide technical guidance to junior engineers with design improvements/failure replacements as requiredLead technical excellence through active participation in E&I Suncor Technical Excellence Networks (STENs)Support small capital and expense projects that are primarily E&I-focused (motor upgrades, VFD replacements, etc.)Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance E&I equipment and infrastructureLocation and other Key Details:You will work out of Syncrude Mildred Lake in Fort McMurray, AlbertaHours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needsOur engineering roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of workWhy Suncor?Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).With a strong strategy for growth and our long-standing approach to sustainability, operational excellence, capital discipline and technology and innovation, Suncor offers a solid foundation for you to continue building your career.
