Early Professional, Structural EngineeringWSP is seeking an ambitious, dynamic Structural Designer to join our Structural Engineering Group at the London, Ontario office. Reporting to a Manager, Structural Engineering, this role supports multi-disciplinary project teams by taking innovative design solutions from proposal through to construction for clients across a wide range of sectors. The role may grow to include a client-facing component and will help you gain knowledge of project management best practices.What you’ll do at WSPPerform engineering calculations and assessments for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures under the supervision of Senior EngineersPerform calculations using latest design software and finite element modelling, underpinned by sound principlesDemonstrate practical knowledge of applicable codes (e.g., OBC and NBC)Contribute to the execution of efficient and accurate project deliverables to high standardsWrite technical reportsConduct field reviews and condition assessmentsAssist in the preparation of proposalsDevelop innovative solutions for new and existing structuresWork with a client-centric approach and seek opportunities to enhance client satisfactionSupport diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in designAdvance computational design and the integration of graphical and analytical structural modelsOccasional travel within Canada for project-related work, site assessments and site supportOther duties as assignedWhat you bring to WSPBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering1–4 years of experience in Structural Design or Structural General Conformance ReviewProactive, energetic, client-centric, and able to contribute innovatively in a solution-driven environmentExcellent organizational and technical writing skillsValid driver’s licenseCreative and innovative, with willingness to propose out-of-the-box ideasExperience with light industrial and/or infrastructure projectsComfortable in a collaborative setting and open to feedbackStrong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and service excellenceAccountable, proactive problem solver who can challenge the status quo constructivelyCuriosity about all we do and a willingness to learnAbout UsWSP is one of the world’s leading professional services firms.
