OverviewSmoking Gun Interactive, a Keywords Studio, is an industry-leading game development studio founded in 2007 by award-winning industry veterans. SGI creates IP and partners with renowned brands to develop world-class, immersive titles and interactive experiences for strategy gamers worldwide and casual players alike.PositionSenior Programmer at Smoking Gun Interactive (SGI). You will work across areas of game programming with a focus on full-stack development including Unreal Engine 5. You will mentor and train programmers and proactively help others when appropriate.LocationRemote role; applicants must be located within the greater Vancouver area.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Lead Programmer & Technical Director to establish a unified technology vision for the project, including writing and reviewing technical design documentsProduce high-quality, efficient, clean, and modular codeProactively identify tasks and problems outside of scheduled work, from refactoring to bug fixingProvide mentorship and training for programmers to foster cooperation and learningProvide and accept feedback on all aspects of code quality (performance, readability, testability, design)Requirements5+ years of experience as a programmer in the game industryBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalentPassion for playing and creating innovative games; you consider yourself a gamer3+ years of experience using Unreal Engine 4 or 5Shipped at least one game as a senior or lead programmer using Unreal Engine 4 or 5Self-motivated and capable of working independentlyExpert working knowledge of C++, Standard Library and Object-Oriented DesignExperience with Unreal Engine's C++, Blueprints, creating in-engine tools and extending Unreal EngineStrong understanding of general and 3D math, statistics and probabilityExcellent problem-solving abilities and creative thinkingExcellent oral and written communication skillsPositive attitude and ability to work in a team toward a common goalImpressive ability to estimate workload and execute within time estimatesNice to HaveFamiliarity with languages such as C#, Java, Lua, HLSL/Cg shadersMobile: iOS, AndroidConsole: Switch, Xbox, PlayStationDriven development practicesVisual Studio, PerforceUnit testing and TDD for server developmentC# server environments, AWS, Azure, GCPExperience running a live server environment and supporting operationsBenefits10 days vacation leave5 paid days personal leave7 paid sick daysLife Insurance & Accidental Death & DismembermentDependent Life InsuranceLong Term Disability (LTD)Extended Healthcare BenefitDental CareRRSP matchingHybrid working/RemoteTraining & DevelopmentSalary Range: CA$100,000 - CA$140,000 per yearSmoking Gun Interactive is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
