OverviewReporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Supervisor leads a team of Delivery Service Representatives through servant leadership. This customer‑facing role manages day‑to‑day transportation operations to consistently achieve company goals in safety, quality, service, cost and morale.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise a team of Delivery Service Representatives to provide high‑quality service through best practices and standard procedures.Collaborate with Sales to address customer concerns.Evaluate performance using scorecards and conduct root cause analysis on operational issues.Promote a culture of recognition for excellent performance.Build relationships with team members, peers and customers; respond to questions and concerns promptly.Provide regular mentoring and coaching.Approve time cards, review incentives and document driver performance.Monitor delivery operations and driver performance using company systems and telematics.Ensure consistent compliance with policies and procedures through training, audits and coaching.Plan transportation resources weekly and quarterly to align with business needs and efficiency goals.Recruit and retain Delivery Service Representatives in collaboration with Human Resources.Identify and develop opportunities to improve operational metrics.Participate in departmental special projects.Maintain knowledge of current transportation industry trends.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsClass 1 Driver’s License.5+ years of transportation or warehouse experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).Flexible schedule and ability to work on statutory holidays.Strong relationship‑building and communication skills across all levels.Demonstrated servant leadership and alignment with Gordon Food Service Core Values.Commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace.Understanding of DOT rules and regulations.BenefitsMedical, Dental, Prescription Drug and EFAP benefits after 30 days.Full flex benefits program.Company‑matching RRSP.Family culture.Advancement opportunities.Profit sharing.128‑year family‑owned history.EEO and AccommodationsGordon Food Service is an equal‑opportunity employer that embraces diversity.
