We are seeking a Senior Decision Support Specialist to play a crucial role in supporting data migration, validation and analytics during this transition. The Senior Decision Support Specialist will use their advanced data analytics and statistical expertise to transform data into insight for decision making. The Decision Support department is responsible for compiling accurate, timely data into meaningful information to help make informed, evidence based, operational and strategic decisions. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in data management, health analytics and performance reporting to ensure data integrity, enable continuity of reporting and support strategic and operational decision making across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading-edge decision support team in an organization that is embarking on a digital health transformation journey. This position will have a hybrid working model consisting of remote and on-sitework. Responsibilities Support Data Migration and Validation Support the extraction, transformation and validation of data from legacy systems to the new HIS Develop and execute data reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness Collaborate with IT, clinical and project teams to define data mapping quality rules and migration success criteria Analytics and reporting Maintain and adapt existing reporting, performance dashboards and KPIs Ensure continuity of external reporting requirements such as CIHI Provide advanced data analysis and insights to support operational planning Data modeling Work with Senior Data Modeller to support development of new data models and reporting structures for integration of new data and work‑flowspost go‑live Support training and education of Decision Support Team and end users on new data assets Support data governance related to migration and integration of data Continuous Improvement Optimize data flows Contribute to the design and implementation of data standards and procedures Lead the statistical analysis for strategic priorities and corporate scorecard metrics Data Driven Insights Provide expert analysis and analytics utilizing predictive and prescriptive statistical modeling for key strategic priorities Program and build automated systems and business intelligence tools to support strategic planning, corporate priorities, clinical services growth, quality improvement and data needs of internal and external stakeholders utilizing SQL, data visualization (Power BI), SSRS and other business intelligence tools as needed Advance the use of predictive and prescriptive models to enhance decision making Skills and Qualifications Degree in Health Informatics/Information, Health Administration, Mathematics / Statistics, Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Health Administration, or other degree with significant hospital experience is required, Master’s Degree is preferred Demonstrated experience with data migration, data validation and reporting during a major HIS/EHR implementation 3-5 years’ experience working in performance measurement or Decision Support in a hospital or other health‑care setting is an asset Self directed and strong collaborative skills Able to manage multiple priorities Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products (Excel, Access, Power BI, Power Apps) required Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL and SSRS Proficiency in ETL tools: SSIS / Azure Data Factory as well as experience designing data ingestion pipelines from cloud to on‑prem via secure API, SFTP Understanding and experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Experience with R and Python is an asset Expert problem solving skills Strong ability to tell a story with data Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to present project and performance information clearly and concisely Superior critical thinking skills and an ability to generate ideas and fresh perspectives Proven track record managing competing demands and excellent organization skills Strong familiarity with CIHI and Cancer Care Ontario data required (i.e. DAD, NACRS, OMHRS, NRS, ALR, SETP, WTIS) Experience utilizing national and provincial Business Intelligence Tools (i.e. Intellihealth, IDS, CIHI Insight, iPort) Advanced knowledge of Health System Funding Reform, QBP methodologies and HBAM Weighted Case Funding Methodologies The ability to thrive on change, work in a consultative and customer oriented capacity with others, Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required. Developed multiple Python/Flask-based internal applications to streamline hospital work‑flows, automate notifications, and support real‑time decision making. Integrated key hospital systems (HIS, UKG/Dimensions, Andgo, Qualtrics) using secure APIs and built automated data‑quality and exception‑reporting pipelines. Skilled in building automated data‑quality and exception‑reporting frameworks across HR and clinical datasets.
