What you would engage in: Our focus is on the application of critical thinking to the management of mine waste and water. As an Intermediate Hydrogeologist you will be part of our Mining Environmental Group, based out of Vancouver, Nanaimo, Fredericton, Toronto, Sudbury, or Phoenix USA. The role offers a hybrid schedule and the following opportunities: Join a dynamic team of professionals committed to delivering high quality hydrogeological and environmental services. Further develop your knowledge and technical skills in hydrogeology through challenging projects. Engage in both field and office-based hydrogeology work on projects such as tailings and water storage dam seepage mitigation, mine water management, dewatering/depressurization, water supply, groundwater impact assessments, and other environmental and engineering applications. Conduct groundwater and hydrochemical analysis and modelling. Provide input and be recognized for your contributions to the team and projects. Broaden your professional practice by working on multi‑disciplinary engineering projects while maintaining your focus in hydrogeology. What we require: A degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geological engineering or a related field, with a track record of continued development. At least three years’ experience in hydrogeology related to tailings and water storage dams, mine water management, dewatering, water supply, and/or contaminant hydrogeology. Willingness to travel to remote sites to engage in field work. Experience designing, installing and field testing of wells for water supply projects, aquifer feasibility studies, dewatering/depressurization and/or groundwater monitoring projects. Experience in implementing and undertaking groundwater and environmental monitoring and sampling programs. Working knowledge of industry standard software packages including AQTESOLV, Leapfrog, Geostudio (SEEP/W) and GIS software. Eligibility to become professionally registered in your home jurisdiction. An ability to build relationships with multidisciplinary project‑based teams. Experience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements. Additional qualifications that will help you excel: Working knowledge of industry standard groundwater modelling software packages including MODFLOW and/or FEFLOW. Ability to find creative solutions and know how to present them. Willingness to mentor others and be mentored. Ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and industry partners. Demonstrate that you are flexible and seek solutions rather than focus on problems. Salary The salary for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 per year.
