Overview Job Title: Senior Accountant. Job Type: Permanent position, 5 days on site in Gatineau or Kanata. Base pay range: CA$75,000.00/yr - CA$90,000.00/yr. This range is provided by Vaco by Highspring. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end and year-end close. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data within the ERP (Microsoft Business Central – D365). Analyze financial results by business unit and product line, identifying trends and explaining variances. Manage accounts receivable aging, bad debt analysis, and early-stage collection activities (customer outreach, statement preparation). Support internal and external audits through documentation, reconciliations, and responses to audit requests. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS and SOX requirements. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency. Collaborate across finance and operational teams to support informed business decisions. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA designation preferred). 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to financial reporting. Strong working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS. Proficiency with Microsoft Business Central (D365) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis). Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
