Your new Organization
The business brings 30 years of experience and success; as a leader in Education; with over 40 campuses across the global. The organization offers in person and online classes, workshops, and camps to an expanding series of training and workbooks for educators. Due to progression planning, the business is excited to welcome aboard their Director of People and Culture.
Your new Role
As the Director of People and Culture, you will report directly into the CEO and be a part of the Executive Senior Leadership team. The business has an employee group of 200 and growing, and this position leads a team of 2 in the HR function, a Payroll and HR Coordinator. This role is responsible for the oversight of the Payroll and HR functions for the organization and its employees across Canada. As the Director of People and Culture, you will be responsible to re develop (as required) HR strategies and policies aligned to the business on people practices and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations to HR for the organization. This role will own the strategy and operational execution for; human resources planning; employee relations and engagement; recruitment and selection; performance management; training; and implementing policies and procedures. You will be expected to build strong relationships with management and employees in this role, and to provide a high level of service when providing advice and guidance on HR strategies and issues. This is a role for someone who is happy to roll up the sleeves and be hands on supporting the day to day HR operations. You will have experience supporting employees across multiple provinces and locations to succeed in this role. Further, you will have DayForce implementation experience.
What you’ll need to Succeed
To succeed as the Director of People and Culture, you will bring 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with 5 years at a HR Manager level. Experience from the education industry is highly valued and/ or experience from a similar industry or professional services environment. You will bring experience supporting a work force across multiple provinces/ locations across Canada to succeed in this role. Implementation of DayForce is considered essential for this role. You will be a forward thinking, progressive HR manager who is passionate about finding creative solutions and thinking outside the box. You will be able to work independently and will enjoy working as part of a wider team and thrive in a fast workplace. You will be engaging and a strong communicator who is focused on relationships building and maintaining a positive company culture. You will be confident, approachable, and able to understand multiple perspectives. Finally, you will be able to provide tactical hands-on support in all areas of HR and will have a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
