Job SummaryRoyal Inland Hospital (RIH) in Kamloops, British Columbia invites applications for a full‑time child and adolescent psychiatrist. In this role you will provide psychiatric assessments and treatment for patients under 18, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to community‑based care initiatives.LocationKamloops, British Columbia, CanadaResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and provide timely treatment for patients up to 18 years old.Deliver care within the Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower’s child and adolescent mental health units, including specialized inpatient services.Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, pediatricians, and social workers to ensure holistic, integrated care.Engage with community providers such as family physicians, pediatricians, and child & youth mental health services to support continuity of care.Participate in and help develop programs addressing transitions to adulthood, eating disorders, and substance use disorders.Serve as the Most Responsible Physician for your patients during hospital stays, overseeing clinical care and safety.Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by refining programs, policies, and procedures in partnership with clinicians and managers.Mentor peers, medical undergraduates, postgraduate Family Practice residents, and participants in the UBC–Okanagan Psychiatry program.QualificationsBoard‑certified or eligible child and adolescent psychiatrist.Demonstrated clinical experience in child and adolescent psychiatry.Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills.Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.Commitment to educational excellence and mentoring.CompensationEstimated total compensation between $420,000 and $620,000, including fee‑for‑service payments, sessional contracts, and MOCAP Level 2.BenefitsVacation leave with flexible scheduling.Relocation funding: $9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, $15,000 for moves from outside Canada.Additional incentives negotiated at offer time.Employment TypeContractSeniority LevelMid‑Senior LevelEqual Employment Opportunity Statement – RIH is an equal opportunity employer.
