This is a three-shift rotation position with a two week rotation.Required Education And ExperienceMillwright and/or Electrical and/or Tool & Die trades certification and/or combination of 5-10 years of Supervisory/ management experience in a manufacturing environmentExcellent English Communication Skills (oral and written)Basic knowledge in computer software for windowsWorking knowledge of E-Maintenance or similar maintenance program would be preferredKnowledge of IATF certifications and auditsExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong leadership and problem solving skillsExcellent knowledge in operating maintenance tools and equipmentPress Experience would be an assetFamiliar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and RegulationsKnowledge of automotive industry processes and operationsExperienced in working in unionized environmentEssential FunctionsAssists the Manager by overseeing the Maintenance Department (all trades) on his/her shift.Provides a PM schedule that ensures machine robustness along with the coordination of production schedule needsCoverage for other supervisor absencesEnsures all equipment and tools are maintained properly to avoid interruption of production and to minimize unnecessary downtimeAnalyses machine downtime to identify and correct mechanical problemsEnsures production/ maintenance area meets or exceeds labour standardsEnsures availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtimeMaintains maintenance related records as requiredTrains, develops, mentors, directs and disciplines subordinates of the department, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, to ensure a productive, efficient and competent workforce to meet scheduled requirements in a safe environmentProvides regular constructive feedback and communication to subordinates on company policies, procedures and work standards etc. and ensures adherence to policies and procedures at all timesEnsures all training within the department is completed in a timely manner and documentedCo-ordinates with outside contractors on any facility installations and sources the most effective repairs and upgrade costsKnowledgeable and in constant review of Customer Specific Requirement as applicableEnsures housekeeping inspections are conducted and all areas are tidy and organized at all timesEnsures plant securityContributes to the continuous improvement initiatives on all aspects of the jobAbide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee HandbookWork Environment95% on Plant Floor5% in OfficePhysical DemandsSittingStandingWalkingHealth And SafetyMust work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the CompanyOther DutiesThis job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities required for this job.
