The Technical Recruiter plays a key role in attracting and hiring top engineering and technical talent to support the company’s growth and innovation. Partnering closely with hiring managers, this role identifies top technical talent, builds strong candidate pipelines, and ensures a smooth, professional, and engaging experience at every step of the hiring process. The ideal candidate combines a solid understanding of engineering disciplines with strong relationship building skills, supporting the company’s commitment to technical excellence, collaboration, and organizational success. This is a 6-month contract position paid on an hourly basis. While we ideally seek someone who can work in a hybrid capacity from our Ottawa, ON or Kelowna, BC offices, we are open to qualified candidates located anywhere in Canada. As a Technical Recruiter, responsibilities include: Lead the hiring process for engineering and technical roles (e.g., Electrical, Software, Systems, Hardware, Mechanical, and Project Engineering). Collaborate with hiring managers to define role requirements, create compelling job descriptions, and establish effective recruitment strategies. Creatively leverages unconventional sourcing channels to attract high-caliber talent. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified technical candidates for current and future openings. Manage interview scheduling, candidate communications, and offer negotiations with professionalism and confidentiality. Champion the candidate experience throughout the process. Develop an understanding of SKYTRAC’s products, technologies, and culture to effectively represent the company to candidates. Track and report on recruitment metrics, providing insights to improve hiring processes and outcomes. What You Bring Candidate Must Have’s: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruitment experience, ideally within aerospace, aviation, or high-tech engineering environments. Proven success sourcing and hiring for complex technical roles requiring specialized skills. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to confidently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This will make you stand out: Strong understanding of engineering functions, terminology, and a technical product development lifecycle. Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
