Applications Analyst - Cards and PaymentsJoin to apply for the Applications Analyst - Cards and Payments role at Butterfield GroupThe Applications Analyst - Payment Solutions role is responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of the Lusis Payments Tango application, including configuration and support to Butterfield ATM/POS applications integrations with Mastercard and Visa payment solutions.Your responsibilities will include:Designing business processes and workflow strategies for the management, access and retrieval of data.Creating and maintaining technical documentation on e-payment systems and processes to facilitate new integration requirements.Using input from developers, building design artifacts to enable and verify outcomes.Providing technical and functional support for day-to-day e-payment operations (e.g., ATM, POS, cards, Visa, and Mastercard).Writing test plans, defining test scope, and performing end-to-end testing to ensure the quality of project deliverables.Planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects in an effective and timely manner.Documenting the design, processes, and ongoing management systems to meet requirements for functionality, scalability, performance, and reliability.Building specifications to support integration with on premise infrastructure services to allow for portability across public cloud providers.Participate in ATM/POS switch integration projects, including acquirer/issuer transaction flows, reconciliation, and settlement processes.Working with ISO 8583 message flows, debugging issues, and performing end-to-end transaction tracing.Collaborating with teams to implement tokenization and encryption mechanisms for secure payments.Using tools such as Mastercard and Visa test simulators and stress test simulators to validate switch and card transactions.Working with fraud monitoring modules and alert systems to detect and prevent suspicious transactions.Overseeing the day-to-day operations of SWIFT functions, including payment processing, reconciliation, and exception handling.Solving switch integration and hardware security module (HSM) related issues, including message failures, key rotation errors, and EMV transaction discrepancies.Managing the overall administration and management of SWIFT operations while staying updated on industry trends and technological advancements.Your qualifications and skills include:Expertise in transaction messaging standards (ISO 8583), EMV, card issuing, dual-message and single-message transactions, acquirer vs. issuer processing, tokenization, hardware security modules, key management, encryption,PCI-DSS compliance, and fraud monitoring.Strong user experience with e-payment technologies and concepts (acquiring, issuing, online transactions, dual message), ATM, and/or POS systems.Proven experience with e-payment projects that include analysis, implementation, and testing.Experience with card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Union-Pay) and certification.Good technical background, with experience using SQL and query databases.Effective communication skills, with the ability to coordinate technical integration concepts between teams.Desired candidate experience:Minimum 4 years of experience in similar role.Minimum 2 years of experience using Lusis Payments Tango transaction processing system.Experience with card schemes (Visa, MasterCard, Union-Pay) and certification.Knowledge of banking concepts and core-banking systems.Strong background in data analysis.Experience documenting technical requirements, data mappings, use case diagrams, and process flows.Familiarity with using the configuration Management Database (CMDB) for the management of technology assets and components through their life cycles, Component Failure Impact Analysis (CFIA) techniques and System Outage Analysis (SOA) techniques.Visit www.butterfieldgroup.com/careers to view all opportunities and apply via our careers’ portal.Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada CA$50.00-CA$60.00Butterfield Support Services (Halifax) Limited provides centralized shared services and support to the Butterfield Group in the areas of Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations, Client Services and Compliance.
