Counsellor II Permanent Part‑time (Flexible FTE Available) In‑Person Counselling Thunder Bay, ON About This Opportunity Make a real difference in your community. As a Counsellor II in Thunder Bay, you'll provide high‑quality, evidence‑based counselling to clients facing life's most challenging moments. This role offers the clinical autonomy you're looking for while being part of Canada's leading mental health network that invests in your growth and clinical excellence. What you’ll do Deliver in‑person, evidence‑based therapy from our Thunder Bay office using solution‑focused, brief and longer‑term modalities tailored to each client's unique needs. Support clients through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Total Mental Health (TMH) programs, addressing complex presentations including mental health disorders, addictions, relationship concerns and workplace stress. Apply strength‑based, client‑centered approaches that honor diverse backgrounds and empower individuals to achieve meaningful change. Maintain clinical autonomy while collaborating with a Regional Clinical Supervisor who supports your professional development. Engage in ongoing clinical consultation, peer learning and access to continuing education opportunities. Utilize streamlined digital documentation systems that let you focus on what matters most—your clients. What you bring Required: Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field. Minimum five years of post‑master's direct clinical experience with diverse populations and presenting concerns. Current registration in good standing with OCSWSSW or CRPO. Strong clinical competency in solution‑focused therapy, brief interventions and longer‑term therapeutic modalities. Ability to establish therapeutic rapport quickly and work effectively with clients from diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds. Excellent clinical judgment, self‑direction and comfort working independently in a high‑volume practice setting. Proficiency with electronic health records and digital clinical tools. Commitment to evidence‑informed practice, ethical standards and continuous professional development. Great‑to‑haves: Clinical experience with substance use disorders and addiction counselling. Cultural competency and experience working with Indigenous populations and communities. Previous experience in EAP, workplace mental health or integrated care settings. Familiarity with Thunder Bay's community resources and service networks. Additional certifications in specialized therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma‑informed care).
