Quinn Professor in Sustainability

The Smith School of Business at Queen's University invites applications for a tenured faculty position at the rank of Professor with specialization in Sustainability, with a preferred starting date of July 1, 2026. Associate Professors with exceptional qualifications may also be considered. A generous gift by the Quinn Family Future Foundation enables the establishment of this new faculty position to cultivate excellence in teaching important sustainability concepts in the Smith School of Business, and contribute to the evolution of our programs and curriculum. This search is open to faculty members from all business disciplines. Qualifications Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent degree. The main criteria for selection are scholarship/research, educational leadership, and teaching excellence specifically on sustainability, which may include environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics. The successful candidate will have a record of innovative and high-quality scholarly research on sustainability including high-quality scholarly publications in peer-reviewed outlets and securing external research funding. This scholarship may include contributions specific to a business discipline as well as scholarly contributions pertaining to teaching and learning. The successful candidate will also exhibit a strong track record of educational leadership through previous work in curriculum design and teaching innovations in the sustainability field. They will demonstrate their potential to enhance Smith’s sustainability curriculum through their own and collaborative efforts to help Smith and Queen’s prepare future business leaders for their roles in business and society, and to positively contribute to creating a society where organizations respect planetary boundaries and prepare for finite resources. The successful candidate must also demonstrate a strong record of outstanding teaching contributions at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates must provide evidence of an ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and student-centred environment. The successful candidate will also be expected to make contributions through service to the department, the Faculty, the University, and/or the broader community.
