Services Architect

On behalf of our Healthcare Client, Affinity Healthcare Solutions is looking for a Services Architect who will support the Alliance Office in designing an integrated Service Model that defines how IT services will be structured, governed, and delivered across multiple providers and internal service areas. The Service Model will serve as the foundation for operational alignment, procurement, and transformation planning. Responsibilities Discovery and Current State Analysis Conduct technical interviews, workshops, and document reviews with health authority teams and service providers. Review existing service portfolios, organizational structures, tools, and performance management processes. Inventory current services, interfaces, systems, and dependencies. Assess integration challenges, risks, and performance bottlenecks. Identify opportunities for standardization, optimization, and improved interoperability. Define and document future state service integration models, including service categories and boundaries, service integration and process interfaces, governance and accountability structures, and roles and responsibilities for retained and outsourced functions. Illustrate key service flows and handoffs through service blueprints or value stream maps. Develop architectural diagrams (e.g., service interaction maps, system interface diagrams, integration workflows). Recommend technical standards, APIs, protocols, and governance for integration. Support roadmap development for service transformation and integration initiatives. Documentation & Requirements Development Prepare technical documentation for integration requirements, service interfaces, and operational procedures. Develop service catalogue and key service descriptions. Recommend governance model. Work with business analysts to design process maps and interaction models across services and providers. Collaborate with procurement and service management teams to ensure architecture aligns with contractual requirements. Ensure documentation supports governance, operational performance, and compliance needs. Validation & Handover Facilitate validation sessions with internal and external stakeholders. Refine architecture documentation based on feedback. Deliver a comprehensive Service Integration Architecture Package for operational and procurement use. Conduct knowledge transfer to internal staff and teams. Governance & Executive Support Prepare executive‑ready materials, including architecture presentations, decision logs, and briefing notes. Support governance and steering committee activities with clear technical insights. Maintain consistency and accuracy in technical documentation presented to leadership and joint governance forums. Strategic Planning & Analysis Provide recommendations on technology strategy, integration opportunities, and service improvement initiatives. Conduct risk, dependency, and impact analysis for proposed architecture changes. Support portfolio planning and investment decisions with technical assessments. Reporting & Communication Weekly status reports summarizing progress, risks, mitigation actions, and technical insights. Participation in regular meetings with Alliance Office leadership, procurement, and governance teams. Maintain all deliverables in a centralized, approved repository (e.g., Teams, SharePoint). Qualifications Technical Skills Strong expertise in IT service architecture design defining end‑to‑end service models, including service domains, integrations, and dependencies. Deep understanding of Service Integration and management (SIAM) principles, multi‑provider coordination, and retained organization models. Experience mapping complex IT service interactions, workflows, and dependencies. Experience aligning service architecture with enterprise architecture standards (TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent). Proficiency in creating architectural diagrams, service blueprints, and integration models (e.g., UML, BPMN, swimlane diagrams). Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and governance best practices. Familiarity with common ITSM and ITOM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow). Understanding of cloud and on‑premises service models, including hybrid environments. Analytical & Strategic Skills Ability to assess current state architecture and identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for optimization. Skilled in aligning service design with business objectives, governance frameworks, and contractual obligations. Understanding of cost drivers, service‑level management, and performance measurement frameworks (KPIs, OLAs, SLAs). Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to translate technical insights into actionable recommendations. Ability to anticipate operational and contractual risks in service transitions. Experience producing artifacts that support sourcing (service catalogues, interface definitions, performance metrics, RACI frameworks). Communication & Facilitation Skills Skilled at leading cross‑functional working sessions to validate service definitions and integration points. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present complex technical information to non‑technical stakeholders. Experience facilitating workshops, interviews, and collaborative design sessions. Skilled at managing competing priorities or viewpoints across internal departments and service providers. Ability to develop executive‑ready materials, including presentations, briefing notes, and decision‑support documents. Professional Experience Minimum 7–10 years of experience in IT service architecture, ITSM design, enterprise architecture, or equivalent service delivery and integration roles. Proven track record of leading service integration or architecture mapping initiatives. Experience working in multi‑stakeholder environments with internal teams, external vendors, and governance bodies. Preferred experience in SIAM implementation or service transition project leadership, participation in service‑related procurements, and performance and governance framework design. Education & Certifications (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is the minimal requirement – Master’s degree preferred. Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL Expert, or equivalent enterprise architecture and service management credentials.
