We are looking for highly‑motivated individuals who enjoy working as part of a team in a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment.Plains has an opportunity for a Contract Pipeline Technician to work on our pipeline system in the Slave Lake area. The successful candidate will provide support to operations, maintenance, and projects in addition to ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies/procedures. The term of this contract role is 6 months.ResponsibilitiesFlexible and willing to work within pipeline/truck terminal operations and provide project supportBasic understanding of pipelines, pump stations, pigging and storage facilitiesAble to perform minor maintenance duties with pumps and piping, demonstrating mechanical aptitudeAble to work independently or as a team member with minimal supervisionAble to conduct daily duties that consist of pipeline pigging, sampling, housekeeping including shoveling snow, cleaning buildings and yard maintenance, LOTO’s and drain downsSelf‑motivated and energetic with effective written/verbal communication skillsAble and comfortable to drive to and from different site locations on and off highwayWilling and able to work outside in all weather conditionsWillingness to work an 8‑day on/6‑day off shiftQualificationsMinimum high school graduate or equivalentGround disturbance experience would be considered an assetCompletion of an OGPO course would be considered an assetPermanent resident (within 100 km radius) of the Slave Lake areaDemonstrated computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft 360, Word, and ExcelCleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checksCompliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol PolicyValid Driver’s License with a clean abstractThis position is not eligible for employment‑based visa sponsorship; applicants must be authorized to work in Canada for the duration of their employmentSalary details estimated by job boards such as Indeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn do not represent Plains’ compensation structure.
