Role overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Solution Architect to join our team The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Azure and a strong background in Life and Annuities Insurance. This role offers the opportunity to work on pioneering projects that drive our company's mission forward. The position requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to apply them to real-world problems.

What you'll do
  • Collaborating with corporate business teams to identify and drive opportunities for architecture alignment and reuse between corporate lines of businesses.
  • Supporting and driving definition of key aspects of the strategic architecture, identifying and resolving gaps or key issues.
  • Works with executives from various groups to provide architectural recommendations & guidance as well as executive-level presentations at the enterprise level.
  • Providing architectural direction and communicating architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies.
  • Delivers architectural initiatives that to align with business strategy.
What you bring to the role
  • Minimum 10-12 years of expertise in large and/or sophisticated system integration projects.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in crafting software/platform/infrastructure architecture plans to support business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of various integration and architecture technologies.
  • Experience in cloud platform Microsoft Azure is a requirement.
  • Must have experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Solid understanding of API design and integration patterns and cloud-based architectures.
  • Proficiency in integration technologies such as APIs, ESBs, microservices, message brokers, ETL tools, and protocols (REST, SOAP, etc.).
  • Expert in assessing trade-offs between various integration approaches and platform design approaches.
Working arrangements

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON, Canada. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
