Fire Protection Piping Technician

Johnson Controls is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fire Protection Piping Technician to join our team. As a Fire Protection Piping Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our customers' fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist experienced technicians in servicing and inspecting fire protection piping, valves, and accessories for commercial and industrial applications.

Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.

Assist in maintaining proper documentation for work performed, including accurate records of inspections and repairs.

Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs and be capable of performing physical labor.

Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.

Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to company standards.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Apprentices at all levels are eligible to apply.

Must be willing to join the UA 170 Vancouver Union.

Minimum of 18 years of age.

Valid Driver's License, and a reliable means of transportation to the employer's place of business and/or job site.

Ability to work well with others, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.

Be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.

Preferred Qualifications:

UA 170 Vancouver Union member in good standing.

Compensation:

The current pay rates for apprentices are as follows:

1st year: Starting rate of $24.84

2nd year: Starting rate of $31.61

3rd year: Starting rate of $36.13

4th year: Starting rate of $40.64
