This role involves ensuring that all production processes are carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The Manufacturing Technician plays a key role in the assembly, testing, and inspection of products, as well as in process improvement initiatives. ResponsibilitiesPerform precise deburring, forming, and assembling of aircraft parts according to specifications and blueprints, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standardsLearn and operate a router table to shape and trim aircraft components as needed, maintaining accuracy and consistency in all tasksAccurately read and interpret work order instructions, and aircraft drawings and diagrams to ensure proper assembly and compliance with technical specificationsKeep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipmentProperly utilize production equipment to manufacture aircraft parts and maintain tools to perform installations and repairsSafely operate equipment such as drill press, bandsaw, shears, bending brake, etc.Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report any unsafe conditionsAbility to interpret and understand drawings, blueprints, and technical specificationsApply sealants and protective coatings to aircraft parts as required, following detailed instructions and industry best practices to ensure durability and compliance with aerospace standards; this experience is considered an assetContinuously learn and apply new skills as required by the organization, including operating additional equipment or performing new tasks to support production needsPerform repairs and assembly tasks under the guidance and supervision of your team leader, ensuring all work meets quality standards and project timelinesResponsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of partsPerform other work as assignedThe successful candidate would be willing to be trained and learn new skillsets as it pertains to this position, as outlined in the responsibilities above Qualifications2+ years of manufacturing, aerospace, warehousing or construction experience is considered an assetCompletion of a high school diploma or equivalent is requiredAny technical or trades qualifications / certificates, or training would be considered an assetExceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workProficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication machineryKnowledge and experience in the aviation industry is considered an assetTransport Canada Sheet Metal certificate is considered an assetAbility to complete a criminal background checkMust have and maintain the ability to legally work in CanadaStrong verbal and written communication skills (English) Health, Safety and DiversityAt De Havilland Aircraft of Canada (DHC), we are committed to protecting our people, customers, shareholders and the public through Health & Safety Excellence.
