Human Resources and Staffing Assistant (Permanent, Part-Time) Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) invites applications for a Human Resources and Staffing Assistant to support HR operations and staff scheduling. The role is permanent, part‑time, and reports to the Human Resources Manager. Reference # 00992. Job Overview Coordinate staffing for the centralized department portfolio. Build monthly schedules, manage replacement staffing and track vacation requests. Provide administrative support for HR processes and recruitment. Maintain employee information, ID and parking badges, and comply with health and safety standards. Act as primary point of contact for scheduling inquiries and collective agreement issues. Responsibilities Coordinate staffing levels for the centralized department portfolio according to master timesheets. Build monthly schedules for the centralized department portfolio. Carry out administrative tasks, keep employee information up to date, process employment changes, complete paperwork, and update systems. Review and process vacation requests in line with leadership approvals. Assist with recruitment, generate reports, write letters, take minutes, schedule meetings, and support projects. Serve as primary point of contact for staff and management on scheduling inquiries and demonstrate knowledge of Collective Agreements and Employment Standards Act. Issue and maintain ID and parking badges for internal and external stakeholders. Meet Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Risk Management requirements. Follow safe work practices and attend education programs. Perform any other assigned functions. Hours of Work NHH staff office is open weekdays 6 am–4 pm and weekends until 2 pm. The position requires one of four weekends from 6 am to 2 pm, plus at least two weekday shifts scheduled either 6 am–2 pm or 8 am–4 pm. Qualifications / Requirements Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or equivalent post‑secondary education. Minimum one (1) year experience in scheduling, business administration or an HR environment. Experience and knowledge of collective agreements pertaining to staffing and scheduling. Experience with scheduling systems, HR information systems and data entry. Strong understanding of recruitment and selection processes.
