Position Description Our District is seeking upcoming Canadian university graduates of Bachelor of Education / Teaching Certification programs. We anticipate having multiple openings starting in January this school year as well as for the upcoming school year for both contract teacher positions and casual on call positions. This posting is for individuals wishing to complete the interview and reference check process in order to expedite the hiring process upon your university graduation. Applicants with assessment and trauma‑informed practice experience are encouraged. Qualifications and Experience Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application). Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies. Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching. A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies. Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum (knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation). The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all learners in an inclusive setting. Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum. Training and successful experience in teaching and supporting social and emotional learning. A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills. A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting. A commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum. The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the greater community. A current valid driver’s licence and ability and willingness to travel as required. Compensation Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers relocating from within BC; up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country. Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $49,769 – $95,681. Salary is based on TQS and prior experience. Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in Dental, Extended Health and Group Life Insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE. About School District 57 School District No. 57 resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli Tenneh First Nations, McLeod Lake Indian Band and the Simpcw First Nations. Geographically we expand from Mackenzie through Prince George to McBride and Valemount.
