Technical Applications Specialist – VTR Feeder Solutions Inc. – Grimsby, ON Join our growing team as a full‑time, permanent Technical Applications Specialist. The role requires national and international travel for customer sites and trade shows. Responsibilities Report to Technical Applications Manager Communicate with customers to acquire project scope and requirements Develop equipment concepts, renderings, and solutions based on customer requirements Research past projects and historical data to support new solutions Use SolidWorks to create new project designs, concepts, and renderings Develop pricing for new projects and provide customer quotes Create costing sheets for internal review Generate proof‑of‑principle documents, POP reports, and simulations; participate in kick‑off meetings and populate network with project information Collaborate with Sales, Management, Project Management, Quality, Design, Electrical Controls, Assembly and Manufacturing Assist with general documentation for Project Management and Operations, draft summary reports, and create POP videos as required Follow all trained processes and procedures, manage data confidentiality Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines and VTR's Mission, Vision and Values Other duties as required Qualifications Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks (required) Experience within manufacturing or related automated equipment design (preferred) Minimum three years in sales, applications, engineering or design roles within manufacturing or industrial equipment Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems Postgraduate education in a related technical field (preferred) Professional customer‑facing experience (preferred) Experience in presenting solutions, creating reports and dashboards Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams) Strong attention to detail, communication and time‑management skills Customer‑service and relationship‑building skills Team player, knowledge transfer capabilities Adaptability, adherence to tight deadlines Organizational skills in fast‑paced environment Innovative, proactive/problem‑solving mindset Commitment to quality and safety Ability to disseminate information in various forms Valid driver’s license and Canadian passport Travel up to 10% of the time for Canada and US trade shows Manage corporate credit cards Understanding of proprietary information and confidentiality Benefits & Work Conditions Base pay: CA$35.00/hr (with potential for growth) Full‑time, 40+ hours per week; Shift: Monday–Friday, 8.5‑hour day; lunch 30 minutes unpaid Overtime paid after 40 hours Travel: up to 10% of calendar year; air and car travel Employee health and dental coverage; Health Spending Account Safety shoes, glasses allowance, custom hearing protection Paid bonuses, birthday off, shutdown pay, lunches, education program On‑site at Grimsby facility; temperature‑controlled environment; manufacturing noise exposure We thank all applicants for their interest; we will only contact those who best meet our needs.
