Position Summary The Deputy Plant Manager/Leader is responsible for the on‑site day‑to‑day management, planning, and execution of manufacturing nuclear power plant products at the Peterborough site. The Deputy Plant Manager promptly resolves issues and escalates high‑level concerns to the plant director. Day‑to‑Day Duties Direct plant operations to continuously improve safety and environmental compliance, production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving. Coordinate activities, give direction, resolve problems and set deadlines to ensure plant objectives are met safely and effectively. Work with the Plant Director to align with overall GOS objectives. Assist the Plant Director in developing the financial plan and budget. Implement cost‑control systems over capital, operating expenditures, labor, wages, and salaries to meet profitability goals. Ensure site compliance with all established company and corporate policies, procedures and governmental regulations regarding safety or environmental issues. Maintain and develop plant facilities and equipment; coordinate with the Plant Director to ensure healthy maintenance and growth spending of capital investments. Lead, coach, develop and manage the performance of direct reports and the organization to achieve goals and continuously improve effectiveness. Make educated business decisions for the site based on financial, QEHS, people and customer data aligned with business strategy. Represent the plant with internal and external stakeholders, making presentations, conducting meetings and communicating with all levels of the corporation. Lead continuous improvement projects, strategic initiatives and cross‑functional teams, instilling skillsets and mindsets. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Management or equivalent technical or managerial experience. Minimum of 7 years in progressively responsible manufacturing positions, with experience managing and mentoring direct reports. Manufacturing excellence acumen with modern manufacturing techniques for continuous productivity improvement. Proficiency in employee relations, collaboration, and working with unions. Strong ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and independently own strategy and forecasting. Leadership that models a results‑oriented culture, motivates, coaches, and drives performance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Financial analysis skills to interpret budgets and translate into actions. Technical expertise and commitment to continuous learning. Talent‑management skills able to develop key talent. Problem‑solving and reasoning ability with complex multi‑variable issues. Decision‑making ability with limited or conflicting data. Determination, drive and assertiveness to accomplish goals. Time‑management skills to balance competing priorities in a senior role. Benefits Competitive salary: $120,400–$180,600 CAD per annum.
