Location: Must be based in Canada and available during EST hours Work Arrangement: Remote or hybrid options available Havas CX is looking for a Middleware Developer to support mobile application development across a fast-moving digital ecosystem. This is a contract role for someone who is comfortable jumping into an active codebase, understanding how things work quickly, and contributing right away. About the Role You will build and maintain middleware and backend APIs that power our mobile experiences. You will work closely with our mobile, product, and backend teams to support integrations, improve reliability, and help ship new features for our clients. What You Will Do Develop, enhance, and maintain middleware services and backend APIs. Support mobile app teams by building API layers, integrations, and data workflows. Work within an existing GCP environment and contribute to architecture improvements. Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure stability across services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Write clean, well-structured, and well-documented code. What You Bring Solid understanding of Node.js and API development patterns. Experience working with Google Cloud Platform services (Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Firestore, etc.). Strong understanding of RESTful API design. Experience working with mobile teams or supporting mobile products is an asset. Ability to pick up complex systems quickly and contribute with minimal ramp-up time. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
